I opened up my wheel to see if I could figure out why my heated component isn't working. (See this useless thread for more on that) while I was in there I saw a sticker dated 11/6/23. My PO said he never replaced the wheel. Is this for sure a MFR date? Is the last guy lying ?

Replaced wheel may explain the missing heated wheel function.

@GrouchyTech posted a pic of his wheel open and his sticker says 2010

I assume its from when it was put together at the factory.

I have been looking at steering wheels a lot lately in preparation to swap mine, and they always seem dated within the date range of manufacturer / match the right year/genre of design (if that makes sense).

Seems that is a new wheel. If it is heated they may have damaged the clock spring cable when yanking it off.

Also could depend what exactly the sticker is on....if its just on the plastic shroud, maybe they are not necessarily lying, but had only replaced that piece.

Whats the build date of your truck (sticker on door jamb)?

The date could be in YY/MM/DD format

If it was from a 2023 build wouldn’t it look different? It looks like a 2011. It was on the lowest part of the airbag cavity in the wheel. Ignore my finger pointing in the picture.

Japan's date format is YY/MM/DD, so likely that sticker date is June 23, 2011 which aligns with your truck build date. Not sure if that is the part manufacturing date, assembly date or some other date.

Great call! Ok the heated wheel mystery continues. 10/10 annoying. Don’t recommend.
