Hey Folks,
‘93 with 183k

Over the last several thousand miles, I have noticed my truck will stumble when accelerating for the first time after starting the engine (only the first press of the throttle when engine not warm). It will hang up for 3-4 seconds with the throttle pressed and just not go anywhere (similar to the feeling of a carb motor being flooded). After the initial Hangup, or if the engine is warm, the issue ceases to exist.

the truck runs fine otherwise, smooth idle and smooth acceleration. Vacuum lines appear fine and not pulling any codes. EGR resistor plug installed.

I’ve seen a few other threads with similar issues but without a common root cause identified. My initial thoughts are this could be injectors or 02 sensors.

Any thoughts or advice is appreciated! Thanks!

I would look at TPS and IAC valve.

Intake Clean? Air Cleaner Hose not Cracked?

Air filter clean and no known cracks. Regarding IAC and TPS, would those cause issue only when not warm? My uninformed logic would make me think those would cause consistent issues despite operating temp?
