How do you get the bearing caps off if they wont seem to budge. Engine is in the vehicle. 1991 fj80 3fe

They should come off without much pursuasion. Maybe a few gental taps with a brass hammer would help.
Rock the crank back and forth some or tap with a rubber/plastic/brass mallet. You might also try turning it BDC on that cylinder and tapping the rod studs with a plastic or rubber mallet to push the rod upwards away from the cap. If you try that, don't use a brass mallet.
