the rear defrost button is stuck almost like it’s glued. The vehicle is new to me so I don’t have any history. All other buttons function as they should. What is the procedure to pull out the switch? Or is there something else I should look for?

Having it stuck is quite uncommon. The only way I know how to pull the switch is you need to pull the dash cover off, which is fairly simple, only 3 or 4 screws and its off. Then the switches pop out and forward. There's a video on youtube how to pull the dash cover. You may be able to pop the switch out without pulling the dash cover, but you may gouge and scratch it a bit. May have to buy a new switch and pop it in. Good luck.

Have you gotten dead serious & made a loop of duct tape to pull it when you push in & try cycling it?

Does it move a little between where it sits & when you press, or is it siezed?

If not siezed, try the duct tape loop.

I would use a Q-Tip soaked in soapy water and rub around the switch body and get it very wet. Do that a few times. If they had a large Coke slosh up on the dash and then poke the button, it may stick. I know the buttons and dash in my truck were absolutely disgusting from my PO. It looked like he picked his nose, rubbed it in dirt, then smeared dog hair on it on EVERYTHING. I used baby wipes to scrub on the buttons to get them cleaned and operating.

I like @LINUS ' idea about using duct tape (after soaking it).

Just be a good corksoaker and get it wet.......

^^^ Coke, boogers, dog drool, -and Lord only knows what else.

As a kid I learned from detailing cars people do EVERYTHING in their cars.
(Fine, as long as you clean your junk).

(Just watch the original Top Gear episode about it)

But yeah, you could "pretreat" with some windex, etc. & see if a little compressed air doesn't help too.

I’ll give those a try. What is strange is that the button isn’t stuck in. It looks to be out even with the one beside it. I will take a pic and post. It’s like it is stuck out.

So after I took the picture I could see what looks like crazy glue had gotten in the button. So after some cleaning with a pick it’s working. looks like when they replaced the radio they must have pulled off the plastic wood and glued it back.
