Muskeg sucks. Back in the day I used to hunt in the Edson , Hinton area as well as Swan Hills. The P.T.O. Braden winch got a real workout on my old 40. The carwash owner in Hinton gave me a hard time one day. Didn't want all the mud in his bay. Ih8mud eh! Enjoy your new fjc. Cheers, Jim

You mentioned in previous posts that you were gettting a 3" lift and different wheels and tires. What type of lift did you end up getting and what size wheels and tires. By the way where in Alberta are you?

I got the revtek 3" with Mickey Thompson Baja Claw Radials 305/70/16 with motto MT700 wheels. Obviously I need the mudders for where I live. I could post a picture of it but I don't know how.

I see a lot of people with a lot of pictures, but I use up my space after 2. The other ones I have of the stuck pictures are pretty cool.

Then I have some of it when it got out.

Damn that's stuck!

It took 5 trys to get out, 2 trucks got stuck themselves but had winches, not long enough to get me. One truck chevy z71 w/ 9" lift and 35" toyo open country mud terrain.

Everyone could not believe that I got that far.

The tow truck had to 'walk in' with a hydraulic ram 4' at a time........

$500 Canadian

Thanks i appreciate the info, would it be possible to post a picture of your wheel tire combination?

Sure, I'll get around to posting pics of them on the vehicle this afternoon. The wheels are the same design but are 6 spoke.

Was there a lot of pissing around trying to get those tires to fit? Did you have to add spacers or did you do something different?

The tire shop that installed the lift and tires said I couldn't have picked a better combo. The tires and wheels fit perfectly with no rubbing when the steering wheel is fully cranked or the suspension fully flexed. The wheels are zero offset to give a 3/4" wider stance per side.

I'll post pictures of them on the FJC tomorrow, it's to sunny out right now to take a picture.

Good to know, i'm looking into the 3" revtek and have spoke to a guy that'll do it for $1100.00 i was also looking at the 285/70/R17 Goodyear MTR's @ $367.00/ea and that's without mounting and balancing, but am looking at all possible options. Due to the initial cost of the FJ itself, the wife is telling me i can choose from either the lift or the tires for the time being. (who's the boss?)

Will the 16" wheels and the tires fit without the lift or is that a must do first kind of thing?

$367.00/ea, that's crazy. If your wife is letting you do one or the other, you could do the whole thing @ $230 a tire for the same price. I am also hoping that that lift install is including the purchase of the lift as well.

Well, if the lift is about $800 then it would cost $300 for install, which means that shop rate would be $100/hr assuming it would take 3 hours to install.
