I hit the search bar and FAQ's didn't really find an answer. going back to work on my lunch and on the highway my dash, blinkers stereo lights etc all went dead. battery light came on(still ran fine all the way to work) popped the hood, didn't find anything out of place. turned the key off and tried to restart and nothing. no lights, no dash, nothing. battery is fully 100% charged. Any ideas? stuck at work till I get it figured out

Dead battery and/or alternator?

1991 FJ80. It all looked good. given I don't have any of my tools here at work, I see nothing out of place

battery is fine, did a set of jumper cables and even swapped it out with a coworkers.

this happened to me and it was the battery not bolted down.. it was flopping around and pulling on the wires. apperently the battery cable being pulled on caused some of the wiring connections to be pulled apart. new battery + new battery hold down bracket + reconnect wires = started right up, no mo problems

VOLT METER IS REQUIRED, AND GET TO VOLTAGE DROPPING! SIMPLE TEST. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DO IT

fusible links?

You said your battery Is good, did you mean all connections are tight as well? This scenario Is very common In cold weather.

just brainstorming....

starter???

i know usually you will hear the "clicking" of the starter solenoid / plunger / contacts / et. all

if i recall right - my starter's internals completely failed (bendix broke) - and i had similiar symptoms - battery & accessories were fine - but with no bendix to engage the flywheel - obviously no turnover) and no "clicking" ...

i could be just talking out of my arse....but just some food for thought...

I just pulled all connections to ensure they are clean. battery is at 100% fusible links and fuses look good. I turn the key on I get no buzz from fuel pump, all dash gauges are dead and only light that comes on in the cab is the red light above the battery charge gauge..

This just happened to me yesterday. Turned out it was my fusable link. Replaced it and started right up.

Not sure about the links on a 91/92. But yes. And @EMOTHUG the links you won't be able to visually tell.

sonofab... it was the fuseable link right off the battery. temporarily bypassed it with some pliers

I carry a spare set in the glove box. And also I learned the very hard way use the OEM fuse link, I almost burned down my truck not knowing and jumpering them with some wire laying around.

FWIW it's a $12-16 3 wire link avail from any dealership.
