Strange vibrating hum/noise!

It's coming from the driver's side and seems to be located about two feet in front and one foot to the left of the steering wheel if seated in the drivers seat. It comes and goes and ussually lasts for about 3-5 seconds. Does not affect performance at all. Any remarks?

Does it happen at startup and every so often after using the brakes?

I tried turning the ac on this morning and it didn't seem to effect the noise. Yes, it did happen after start up and quite possibly after using the brakes.

Does it happen when you are in drive, stopped at a stop light? I had a similar sound and it ended up being the plastic cover on top of the engine. I removed this cover and the sound went away. There is a thread on this a while back. Good luck!
