work is already cancelled here. We are supposed to have up to 70mph in the city. With all of our above ground power lines, and old trees, its going to be a nice week with no power.

Just ran the Marine Corps Marathon this morning in DC, little wind, no rain until maybe an hour or so.

you should have hit me up. I was working at the expo on thursday and friday. It has just started raining here. As far as the storm we shall see.

I was in Surf City. We had some flooding into the yard, but nothing major. Wind was blowing nice and steady off the sound and a good steady rain. Perfect for some beer drinking and nap taking.

Eh, I would have if we had the time, but we were bouncing between Stafford, Highland MD and Arlington. The whirlwind tour of all the friends up this way. Now I am just miserable in the hotel in Arlington. Ran a decent time though.

Heading out 1st thing in the AM back to NC. Pretty much beltway and 95, do it should be minimum drama.

Nah, we were in the wife's CRV. Smooth sailing all the way back.

I was surprised my house was still here after all the glom and doom reporting on this storm:rolleyes:

The actual Outer Banks are the barrier islands, Ocracoke, Hattaras and Roanoke. Many of the southern islands are lumped in like Atlantic, Emerald, Topsail, etc...

Pretty good storm surge and wave action on the barrier islands up by Hattaras, 9-12ft waves.

My brother in law is a lobster fisherman in Maine...they made it in to port over 25 FOOT 'following' waves this morning... We are all breathing a sigh of relief! May not be bad here...but God knows, NC has seen its share of bad storms!
