Hey all - a quick question: has anyone tackled the lack of storage in the GX and created a custom solution for, say, the hollowed-out area of the rear hatch (or other)? I'm got all the standard nooks and crannies stuffed with straps and other gear and am still looking for some more space...

I just bought my truck, so haven't worked on the storage yet, but I plan to. I was looking at Luke111's rig the other day and he fabricated some nice storage on his 80 series truck. You should check it out for inspiration.
Just FYI, there is VERY little extra space in the body cavity of a GX. I have had everything open at one point or another and they are very thin compared to a TLC or a 4Runner so there is less space. There are a few people that have done boxes for the rear if you search.
