Got drums and drums of the stuff here at work, I can have as much as I can use. Anyone know if it's any good (vs mineral spirits) in a parts washer? Any good for anything else?

It is what most parts washer systems used before they came up with all the new ‘cleaners’.

I will take two or three 55-gallon drums if you will ship it to me. :)

Let me know what I owe you.

I don't know if anybody else is on this wavelength...but I'm thinkin' moonshine baby.....

IMO

Stoddard solvent is a better cleaner than mineral spirits. It will dry you skin out if you have sensitive skin but it cleans and degreases like nothing else.

X - 2 on what Poser said.

A 5 gallon bucket of it in CA cost around $65 out the door.

Thanks Dan. Just what I was hoping to hear.

My parts washer needs cleaning out pretty bad, might as well go ahead and do it while I have free access to a good solvent.

Steve- I doubt I will be able to convince the shop manager to give me a couple drums to ship off, but I will try. If we're lucky he just wants it out of his way.

I always thought that Stoddard solvent and mineral spirits are the same thing. We use them interchangeably; it just depends on what the vendor wants to call it. There are different grades though.
