Stock Tire Size

Anyone know the factory tire size (diameter) on the 60? Is it 295? Or is the stock size 31"?

I think the OE size was 235/75X15. 31X10.50X15 fits fine too though, and is a common upgrade. The OE diameter is around 29" (varies from make to make).

I've got 31" tires now, and I'm just trying to figure out how it's effecting milage, etc.

do you mean gas mileage? if so, don't worry, the only way my 60 saves gas is when it's parked...as far as speed and mileage go, going from a 235 to a 31 isn't that much...maybe 2-5 mph on the speedo depending on how fast your going. As far as mileage, it's only gonna be difference in tenths...not anything noticeable

my 61 has 31x10.5 x 15 on the door, from factory

Accoring to my GPS, my 60 reads 10% slower than actual speed with 31 x 10.50 x 15 tires. 30 MPH is really 33, 50 MPH is really 55, 70 MPH is really 77. etc. Seems consistant. With 235 x 75 x 15 tires it was pretty accurate.

On 62 with 32x11.50 speedo reads about 10% slower than Lowrance GPS.

Myh FJ62 (1990) with stock 4.11's on 31's is dead on with the sheriff's big "You are going THIS Fast ___" sign at 30, 40 and 50 mph. Might vary going faster though.
