I would like to put the stock rims from a 90 series landcruiser (the classic aluminum dished out silver rims) on a 100 series (not the 105) that came stock with the flat wheels.

My concern is that even IF the lug nuts sync there will be wheel cap cover, brake or other unintended consequences. Also, it only stands to reason that my overall track width will widen and my wheels may actually protrude beyond the body (Possibly not a bad thing I guess).

I prefer the earlier series but am ready to turn in my 90....there I said it. The steering fluid is leaking into the oil system and with a 3 year old and work and life I just have resigned myself to get a LC that is 8 years younger. Before I do it though I am trying to plan out a few mods in advance. Thanks!

You'd be the first. The 100s are 5x150. Would need to check the offset of the 90 wheels. The 100s came with 16s in early years so brake clearance shouldn't be a problem from a radius stand point. Any pics of the wheels?

didnt know they sold 90s in austin....unless you mean defender 90?

how does power steering fluid leak into the engine?

I misspoke- not rims from a 90 but an 80

Not sure why I put 90, when I re-read the responses I didn't understand the confusion now it makes sense. I will repost with the correct info- Also, the reason that the power steering fluid is leaking into the engine oil is because the power steering is powered directly by the engine instead of a belt like most power steering units. I know strange....but true!

Anyone put stock rims from an 80 onto a 100?

I think the stock rims from the 80's are just the best... the big aluminum scooped out rims, but I want to put them on a newer cruiser- anyone done this or know if it would work?

Thanks

Bolt Patterns won't match up without the use of custom Wheel adapters. From 5 lug to 6 lug. I think it could be done but I haven't seen anyone do it. Not sure about the backspacing difference between the 80 and the 100 stock rims either and not sure if that would keep them from working. Do it and let us know. I too Love the look of the 80 series rims.

You should put wheelz from a Camry. I think dose are just the best.

These are on a 100 here. Don't know what they are and haven't been able to find the owner to ask...

Good. This whole wheel delima seemed very, very complicated. I mean 5-lug or 6-lug?!? Crazy. Best just buy a whole new $80k LC and be done with it. Problem solved.
