Has anyone integrated their iPhone to the stock Nav system?
I have a 2003 with a stock nav and want to play music and use Waze through my stock speakers.

Stretch goal to be able to skip songs via buttons on the steering wheel.

It piggy-backs - the harness just inserts in the chain.

Great! Exactly what I'm looking for! Thank you.

the grom version is plug and play and bluetooth capable. no wires necessary unless you specifically want a hard line to your phone. the bluetooth is way better than stock. and it's the same price (with the bluetooth adapter add-on) as the usa-spec, which does not have bluetooth. it's about a 30 minute install.

^^^another GROM fan here....

Thanks. Do you know if the Grom version is a piggyback to the CD changer, or does it replace it? Want to keep the CD/DVD changer but also play music off my phone. Bluetooth will be awesome if it allows me to make handsfree calls too.

it piggybacks. you will lose functionality of disc one, but the other five in the changer will work.

Yah, if you want BT, I think the Grom is the way to go. That said, I use my iPhone to run Waze constantly while driving (using a Pro-Clip mount), so I want it plugged in and charging all the time, which is why the USA-Spec makes sense for me. Not to mention the fact I've had them in three different vehicles now and they work great, haven't failed, etc.

IIRC the VAIS doesn't offer actual phone capability. I had one and got it installed before I figured that out and went to the GROM.

Not sure what you mean here by "actual phone capability" but it worked great with my phone. Calls, steering wheel function, even song titles came up on the factory Nav screen when playing music from phone.

I used VAIS

it overrides the "i agree" button on the NAV to switch from the warning to nav on startup, it has a USB out for charging, and streaming is all done via bluetooth so no need to use a lightning cable for connection. retains CD changer function as well.

that said, GROM is rolling out their V-line which has a lot more features, but isn't iOS compatable yet.

i plan to test it in my GX first since i have't put in the VAIS in it. if it works well w/ the google map integration, will probably put in the 100 as well.

Isn't there a monthly service fee to utilize the VLINE to its intended potential?

i think it CAN involve a monthly fee if you don't want to tether it to a phone or wifi hotspot. you can pay for it to have it's own 4g reception (which i believe can be used as a hotspot for wifi enabled devices inside the vehicle. so you're going to "pay" one way or another whether it's for the V-Line to have it's own signal, or for it to piggy back on your phone's signal. data has to get there somehow.
