Hey Monty that thing is coming along. I like that green that you put on. Tell us more and let me be the first to say More Pics Please.....cause others will ask the same.

I was able to fire it last week. Tightened the bolts so the oil won't leak, adjust the carbs then bring to the exhaust shop to install exhaust from headers to back. I got done in an hour, after 1/2 mile from the exhaust shop, it backfired 4x and blew the muffler. I replaced the points and condenser. Put on the lights, marking lights, just try to make it work and run decent. I found out that the positive(+) wire to the starter was lose, so that's why I kept on losing power. I installed a 1 leaf spring helper in the rear DS and it raised 2 1/2inches in the back. I'm still undecided what color on the paint. I got this PIG from a nice guy in Maryland. This was not run for 3 years or so and the body is 95% rustfree. I just put some amber marking lights on the grill today.Grille lights were identical to the front fenders marker lights. So only the 1969 FJ55 have these grille lights? The PO must have replaced the grill. My mechanic will fabricate the front driveshaft. The newer driveshaft end on the transfer case and older driveshaft end on the differential. The rear driveshaft that the mechanic made was like perfect, no vibrations.

I believe '68 and '69 are exclusive to the grill lights.

I put on the license plate light and will be able to get PA inspection. I had the muffler the 2nd time and had the tail pipe on the side next to the tire.

Will need new headliner, seats, rubber mats, door panels are good. PO did some work on the dash cracks.

If identical to fender lights then not factory. 67-69 pigs grill marker lights are sided in their shape and are different from the standard rectangular fender marker lights

Funny thing is, one is sided and one is not. PO maybe didn't know it. PO is doing a frame off and parts were all in bins. I got this deal with thousands of $ in NEW parts. I am a newbie to FJ55's. Thanks for your comments, it made me curious to look at those grille lights. So far it runs GOOOOOOOD!!!

Luv the grill lights...wish mine worked but they're trashed.....keep us posted on your work!

now get real paint on that primer...primer is porous and holds moisture, which is inherently evil

I painted the reflectors below the reverse lights. I'll post the pics soon. All I can do was to use the double sided tapes. To tighten the reflector lights were closed and welded.

I enjoyed the 3-hour riding around the StinkySwine71. Starting from Woolrich, PA I must have driven to 4 other neighboring cities. Its FUN and proud to drive a PIG.

That's nice, to be able to drive it, already. What's the next project, on it. How about some interior shots.

thanks yatranorth....

I need bigger pine trees to hide my FJ's from wife.
