Alcan springs. Do it right the first time.

So have you narrowed it down yet?

Well I thought I had it narrowed BEFORE I started this thread! Now I'm all over the place. The man-a-fre safari kits are on sale and they seem to made by a reputable manufacturer. The alcans are just out of my price range but I can't find a thing bad about them and only OME has a more loyal following.
I gotta say the Hell Creek got some really bad reviews. One guy pmed me and really blasted them so I think they are out.

I guess I am realizing why there are so many threads on the topic but hey, its alot of money for me and I wanted to make sure I did as much research as I could.

Thanks for ALL the input guys. I don't h8mud Ilovemud!

Safari Lift Reviews?

Has anyone else used the Safari Lift? I was just getting ready to order the Hell Creek kit and now am thinkibg of the Safari Lift for my 72. Good thread let us know what you decide and how it works out once you get it on! I am looking for the same lift instead of a SOA and am still not sure what is the best "economy" kit.

BDS

Not sure about the price on BDS springs today, but I've been running a set for 10 years and they have a great ride on and off road, without the loss of a good arch.

From what I've seen of the OME springs, it seems they are too short and the shackles end-up sitting on there tip toes, causing a harder ride. Hey, people still rave about them...

I have the safari 4.5 on a 79'. the fronts flex better than I thought they would, rears are stiff, I removed one leaf from the rear pack and it helped a lot, still do not flex like I would like them too. I am going to move the shackle hangers about 1.5" forward in the rear for a better shackle angle. That said these still have less than 200mi on them so it is hard to tell where they will end up. Alcans are the way to go IMO.

I have the 4" kit from Tom at Hell Creek for the price and the help you get from Tom you can't ask for a better lift or vender. Just my .02 cents worth.
