Depending on the bar length you are running, you should have approximately 10%-20% of the oil left when you are out of fuel.

If you do a lot of ripping or milling you may go through 3 or 4 tanks of fuel to one tank of oil.

I have a 20" bar running .325"x 0.063". I stripped it down today to verify that the intake and output lines were clear and they were. Same with the oil pick up filter. The lines to the oil pump are fully seated and do not leak. The oiling holes on my bar line up and are clean.

I did modify the oil passage way from stock 0.079",I think, to about 0.100" on the pump housing, output line, and the output line to bar. I also modified the control bolt so the cam mechanisms makes contact at highest point to maximize the stroke. It oils A LOT better but not like my dads Poulan SD25.

In comparison what is the output of a stock 290 oil pump vs the 390? Any input on a full comp vs semi skip for my setup? I cut about maybe 3-6 cords of wood a year, mostly 18+" fresh red oak in the spring.
