Hi all,

I have a 1991 Prado LJ78 2L-te. I was just wondering if anyone has tried installing a new stereo in this vehicle. I was able to set up the stereo to turn on and off, but I cannot figure out how to connect the stereo to power up the power-amp and subsequently get the speaker wires to work. I've had to run wires from each speaker to the stereo head instead. I was just wondering if anyone knows which wire on the original harness is the power for the power-amp and how to get it to work.

Thanks

There wouldn't be a wire in the original harness for a power amp, you would probably have to take power from an existing circuit or make a new one.

I suppose it depends on what sort of power the power amp requires, does it have connections for permanently on power as well as an input that turns the amp on and off, or is there just a single power input?

The new stereo might have an output that you can use to power on the power amp, otherwise I don't think there would be a way to make the power amp turn on/off with the stereo, you would have to manually turn it on and off.

Rewired all the amp stuff totally new and wires in mine. I did try and figure out the wires but it has two sets of plugs one for the front speekers and powering the sterio and other other for the rear built in amp under the side panel in the rear and back speakers.
My book did give me some clues but was not a big help. In the end use a tester and steal key power and constant power and run the rest yourself.
