Have a GX470 with a worn out steering wheel so researched refurbished steering wheels, and a couple of the replacement options from overseas have this odd button on the middle right steering wheel button panel whereas ours (NA version) has a blank there.

Any idea what it does? Guessing fog lights but not having much luck confirming.

Not a direct answer to your question, but the OEM wheel can pretty easily be recovered with new leather. I put a Loncky cover on mine, which was around $60 and a few hours of work to install, and have been quite happy with it for the past year.

It's also pretty easy to disassemble the wheel and swap the buttons over, if you do go with a Prado wheel. It would just add a few minutes relative to a straight R&R of the wheel itself.

Ya I actually removed the steering wheel last weekend to fix a grinding noise behind the clock spring. While it was off I applied some leather paint matching stuff from the Seat Doctors to the more worn areas of the steering wheel. Honestly it looks more than good enough to live with. Really just curious what that button does as getting the steering wheel off is so easy, if the button does something cool I might add it.
