My 80 has this huge gaping hole in the firewall:

Steering shaft dust boot cover arrived from dealer:

Now how the hell do I install this?

From the FSM it looks to be bolted from the inside half of the firewall...

Its not difficult to do. The FSM has all the pics you need to do the job. Just remove the drivers seat, take a look, and you'll find the coupling that needs to be disassembled. When you have a look, its really self explanatory.

I did mine in about 45 minutes. Did not have to remove seatm but ya do gotta be flexible. Big Hint: Mark shaft/coupler alignment with a felt tip before taking it apart, or you risk having a crooked steering wheel when your done. This little repair makes your A/C much more effective here in the desert! John
