Steering rod breakage...Check yours.

I had an interesting weekend.

Steering rod broke while on a class 6.

Check your parts...If this happened on the road I could have died or killed someone else.

The night before I had been on the road...Up and down some big hills in town.

Good job coming up with the idea for the repair!
I had the same sort of problem once, the TRE at the end of
that rod snapped, we ended up punching out the center of the TRE and
one of the jeep guys had a long bolt that would fit thru the center arm.
Got us off the trail and the 40 miles home.

Replace with a bud built!!!

Glad you're ok Sam and nothing happened on the highway. Nice trail side fix.

Scary. I the 40 I am parting out had the same issue. Took very little to break it apart. Glad to hear you are safe.

Guys thanks for the kind words...Yeah, could have been way worse.

It also would have sucked bad if I rolled over. I think I would have had to call out for help.

Replace with a bud built!!!
