CAN ANYONE Pls THROU AN idea whats gone wrong with my steering(91,1hz, 73)
steering wheel turns easy, but the more i turn, the more i feel something resisting hard,
say if the truck is rolling downhill,
i turn and the truck looses inertia and stopes faster then normal,
feels like a wheel gets jammed:confused:
i also have strange leak on the left side.i can see a rectangular shaped mark(only outline, nothing inside) on my floor, not sure if this relevant

I'VE GOT ELECTRIC ONES,and they are off(no light on dash),unless they got stuck on with the light on the dash off

The dash light is no indercation of whether your locked or unlocked, in H2 ( Motor running) see if the front drive shaft will turn freely. OR remove the end caps , check if they are in the retracted (unlocked) position.

Last time steering was hard in the TROOPY a CV ball bearing had dropped into the works from the broken CVB joint and caused the knuckle to lock up - oops :(

that would have been nasty

the steering did free up when i played with the hub and 4WD buttons and drove back and forth
so it seems my hubs get stuck in
however i could not turn front drive shaft(engine on,4 wd and hubs off),will try again

so if hubs light off does not mean hubs off,
what about 4wd light?same story?
if yeas can i be running 4wd on tar(and wrecking my transmission) not even suspecting it?

You can only do this ckeck while in H2.
If your in H4 then the drive shaft is locked togeather with the transfer box so driveshaft cannot turn freely.
As said the light is not directley linked to the hubs, only to the ECU Box.
The H4 light is not connected to the T/F Box only via a Relay.
If every thing is working 100% then lights do tell you what they mean.

thanks i think what happend -lights were off,but both hubs and 4wd were engaged,so it was hard to turn coz no diff, tyres where squealin, due to rotation speed difference.
fok,i could ruin my transmiison!
