So I rebuilt my steering box (resealed) and installed a 105 sector shaft.
Like an idiot I forgot to set the backlash on the input shaft so I was getting tight normal feeling steering from the 12 0'clock positing (steering wheel neutral) to 11:59 and on but from 12 o'clock to about 2:00-3:00 it would be slop then feel normal.
I jacked the front axle up off the ground and wiggled the drivers side wheel and could visibly see the input shaft move in and out of the gear box.
Without having witness marks (I used paint then washed off with solvent) how do I know how tight to make it? I'm obviously taking it back out to start over.
I would think the play is here in the pictures
