I removed these pistons from a new old stock 12ht long block. The engine was in storage for nearly 30 years and one of the cylinder got some moisture in it. I had to bore the cylinder to get rid of the rust spot so i installed over sized pistons in it. This engine has never been installed in any vehicle. I assume Toyota probably test runs them hence the discoloration on top of the piston. You can tell by the rings and bearings that it is indeed new. There is no carbon buildup on any of the rings. This would be ideal for someone wanting to freshen up their 12ht.
