Having the starter replaced on my 2000 with 86K miles.

Is one better than the other? Anything besides the gaskets that I should have them watch out for.

Have you considered just having them replace the contacts? (if you even can on a 100

Which one is which one? I take it you did not go to the dealership.

Sorry, I don't have much business in tech. I've been trapped in chat for too long.

Go OEM for the starter. Talk to Cdan for great pricing. If your mech hasn't done the starter in a 100 or other Toyota V8 before take him the FSM or print outs of the procedure on the FAQ.

Its the contacts that are worn out. If you want to just rebuild, it involves replacing the contacts and plunger.

thanks, it looks like I am just going to go with a OEM nippondenso and forget about it. My little sister uses this truck, makes me nervous for her to have something that may not start.
