Starter and door lock actuator questions (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I'm looking to have my mechanic replace the starter preventively on our 2016 LC (120k miles). Do most people go with the OEM or is there a different one? I didn't see a clear consensus in my search on the site. I'm also having them replace a door lock actuator. Was going to buy that online and want to make sure I order the correct part. I need it for the rear passenger side door... anyone able to give me a part number?

Use the OEM starter. It’s an inconvenient relatively expensive repair, you don’t want to do it again in six months.

I would trust a salvage yard Toyota starter before I wasted one dollar on an aftermarket.

Rule of thumb with anything Yota related is OEM only for anything electrical

OEM has lasted 160k so far, sooooo
