Hi All:
Today, the CEL, VSC and VSC light came on. Suspected it was a loose gas cap, so retightened it, and then went to the delaer and replaced the gas cap (it is 11 years old). Lights stayed on, so disconnected the battery for 10 mins and reconnected, and everything was fine...no warning lights.
Went to start the car three hours later, and it would not start. Finally with giving it gas it started, but would not idle. After a few restarts, it idled at around 500 rpm. Tokk it out for a 10 mile drive, and the performance was perfectly fine, with no more starting or stalling issues.
Is this related to the ECU, where it resets due to the disconnected battery, and then needs to be driven so it achieves normalcy? No more warning lights, and it drives perfectly normal.
Any thoughts? Since it is my wife's car, I want to make sure everything is reliable!
Thanks
