Squeaky seats

Whenever I drive over any bumps and when my weight shifts (like wen turning a corner) my front seats squeak and creak like crazy. I'm going to tear them down at some point soon and do a little resto work on them (new vinyl, new foam, etc.), but I'm wondering if any of you have torn down your seats and done anything to fix squeaks and creaks. From the sounds of it, it's coming from the springs in mine.

I had the same thing in my sixty. I tore the seat down and it was a cracked seat fram I welded it up with some extra support for my 6'2" 225lb ass and it been good since.

Oooh damn, I didn't even think of it mine being cracked. I'll have to remember to check it when I tear it down. Especially since I'm only a few pounds lighter than you...

Volvo seats fixed that problem... mine used to squeak too, but they were never broken/cracked.

I used those Mazda seats I had for a while (still trying to sell 'em, yeesh), but they sat up so high I got tired of 'em after about a year or so. Otherwise, they were damn comfortable.

What Volvo seats do you use, and do they sit much higher than the stock seats?

Edit: just found your thread. Damn they look nice (and stock too!). I may have to keep my eyes open for a pair when the budget allows.
