All,

I am really impressed with the build quality of my LX. The interior is really quiet, especially for an 11 year old truck with 100k+ miles. The one exception is the door panels. The squeak a bit too much for my liking, especially around the area where you rest your elbows. Put any sort of pressure there and they start making noise.

This affects all of my door panels, which leads me to believe that this may be normal for these rigs. Is that the case?

I'd like to replace the speaker covers, which I understand requires removing the door panels. I figure if I already have the panels off, maybe there is something I can do to address the squeaking.

Have any of you tackled this job? What did you do to stop the squeaking?

Wes

I had the same issue with my LC. The armrest is secured to the backside of the door card with phillips head screws. I removed the door card and tightened all of the screws and it helped eliminate almost all of the noise.

Felt tape works great but if you dont have it, a little silicone spray, or dry silicone lube sparingly sprayed on edges of mating surfaces helps with creaks. Its not a permanant gix but does last a while.

Especially good with latches/hinges on the center console that creak, seatbelt receivers that creak etc.

Make sure you read how to remove your door panel in the FAQ's section, it's not just snapped in place, there are hidden screws and bolts along the bottom.

Thanks. I'll be sure to check the screws. It's possible that this is as simple as some screws being loose. Maybe I can apply a bit of loctite to make sure this isn't an issue going forward.

Yep, already read how to remove the door panels. If it wasn't for the info here, I probably would have never figured it out lol.

I think I have some felt tape lying around. And speaking of the center console, mine did rattle a bit, especially when driving on anything other than the smoothest of roads. I had the same issue years ago on my Infiniti QX4. I just applied a couple little felt pads and the noise is gone.
