My seat has developed an annoying creaking sound whenever I shift my weight, either from going around a corner or repositioning myself. My efforts to diagnose the cause is complicated by the fact that my wife doesn't have enough lead in her ass to replicate the sound (I'm not complaining!).

Anyone else experienced this problem and managed to figure it out?

I don't know what Gas-X is but I am curious as I have the same issue as OP. FWIW, for a while I thought it was coming from the area of the seat belt receiver, but that's not it....

Its most likely the seatbelt receiver-mechanism where it attaches to the strap/strut coming from the floor. When the buckle is engaged and I move around Ive got the same squeak/creak. Haven't determined how to correct it yet. I originally thought it was the seat frame beneath the cushion but I can recreate the creak on demand by moving the seatbelt receiver around.

I can't recreate it. Hence I have decided it's something else (in my case)

Thanks for the tip! Seat was squeaking this morning on my drive into work. I removed my seat belt, and it stopped.

Now that I know what is causing the noise, I need to figure out what to do about it.

Anyone figure out a fix for this? My seat belt does the same thing. I thought it was the seat at first too, but moving the seat belt recreates the noise.

It was definitely related to the seat belt in my vehicle. The squeak went away with time, or I just got used to it and don't notice anymore. I'll try to pay attention next time I'm driving. Try moving the seat belt when you notice the noise to see if you can recreate the sound.

Bump...

Has anyone diagnosed this issue any further? I've got the same annoying squeak, looking for a fix.

thanks.

It was definitely the seatbelt latch that was causing the squeaking, or more specifically where the seatbelt latch hinges to move frontward and backward. I just sprayed a bit of lubricant on the hinge, moved it back and forth a few times, and the squeak went away.
