Now that they can be legally imported into the United States I want to buy myself a BJ74. Id like to spring it over, add some 37's and change the ring and pinions. If it has cable lockers fine, if not Ill add ARB's. Looks like all the ARB accessories are still available for it too. Snorkle bull bar etc etc.
I'd like to see some pics of people's 74's who've done spring overs if I could please.

My suggestion would be to get the truck and drive in many varying terrians before you go SOA. With selectable lockers and Marks gears these trucks are incredibly capable without SOA. I have done some of the most challenging trails in Moab without SOA, and I am still able to drive it there and back a 2,500 miles round trip at 21-22 mpg (us gallons)
I removed the rear seats for a drawer system (photos in the build thread in my sig line) and I replaced the passenger seat with a cabinet with a platform for my dogs to stand on for a trip to the arctic. That part would be easily reversible and the truck will likely be a two seater once again by River Shiver.

Seem's like you've already acquired a S/O BJ74 for your avatar. Or, more to the point, MY S/O BJ74 for you avatar!
Hope you find what you're looking for Tom. And don't' let anyone talk you out of a S/O. A stock BJ74 is a great start, for sure, but springs belong over the axles if you really want to go places.
Hey Peter, LOL I was pretty sure you wouldnt (hoped) mind my using your great truck for my avatar! Thanks again for those axles. They helped make my 60 a nice truck. I've always appreciated the articulation performance of SPOA's. It seems to me a 74 on 37's geared properly would make a great trail truck.
Those 74's sure look nice with the top off.
Thanks again Peter. The more pics of your trucks the better!
It's an honour that my rig is your prototype. 37's are too small for SOA, though. You can fit 35's on a 70 with 2" lift. And Easily 37's with some lift and some fender trimming. I run 40" Irok's on my SOA with some fender trimming, and with the fender removed on the Left Front, it's easy to imagine 42" or so tires without much problem.
I very much enjoy the top off and 1/2 doors on. But I will confess that they 'just look right' with the full top on.
How many S/O BJ74's are there, anyway. Obviously Bruce and I in the RMLCA, but are there any others out there? Hello. Calling all S/O BJ74's Please check in here. Maybe I should buy Random from Bruce and corner the world market on S/O BJ74's.
You guys are great! Thanks for all the pics too. Peter are those the 40" IROKS on your truck in that picture? They look great. I guess my only question is how those axles will hold up carrying 40's around??

Technically they are 39.5x13.50x16 Irok Radials. Front axle housing is factory 70 series housing with Sky widening kit, 4x4 labs arms, and 30 spline longs and inner shafts, and Long hub gear, Yukon 4.88's and factory cable locker. Everything else is factory. Wheels are 16x10 w/4" BS steelies.
Rear axle is factory FF with 4.88's. EBI 1.5" spacers. Everything else is factory.
The truck is indestructible. Of course, that has a lot to do with the way it's driven, which is with ample usage of the 213:1 crawl ratio with extremely delicate us of throttle in breakable situations. I've broken A LOT of s*** on Cruisers in my day, and I've engineered this particular machine, and drive it in such a way, that it really is indestructible. People laugh, but it's been 5 years since something has broken on this rig that needed to be fixed before I could get home.
