What does it do?

Designed to fit specifically in the cargo area of an FJ Cruiser, the FJ MSM features a large drawer that will facilitate the storage and organization of many items. There is an optional short upper rail that will allow the operator to lash down cargo and will prevent materials from sliding off the unit. If the operator does not wish to purchase the rail system, there are nylon plugs place in the holes so that the mini-grid may be added at any time in the future

Is it really “Heavy Duty”?

We have listened to our customers and unlike our comptetors, we designed a drawer unit that can be lived with. Most companies will put in the cheapest set of sliders that can be found. Our customers asked for a drawer unit that can be locked in the open AND closed positions. This feature will stop the drawer from “slapping” while driving in uneven terrain AND will allow the drawer to stay open on steep inclines. We searched far and wide to find a slider with these features….the Accuride 500 pound rated slider is the unit that we decided to use.
The Accuride 9308 series is a super duty line of high quality side mounted ball bearing drawer slides. It's designed for use in heavy-duty mobile and vehicular applications where a lock-in and lock-out are required. The 9308 series is intended for super duty applications including fire truck pump drawers, truck body fabrications, tool chests and custom metal fabrication projects requiring the meanest locking drawer slide available.
In addition, the drawer is fitted with a Combi-cam combination lock. No need to track down your keys to open, they offer the security of 1000 possible combinations and are very easy to use.

Is the installation hard?

The installation is easy but it does take a little while and requires some basic knowledge of tools and the patience to read directions. The drawer will need to be removed to access the factory mounting points. Overall, installation should take less than 20 minutes.
We use quality stainless steel hardware with nylock nuts. The unit is painted by a quality powder coating process so the module will look great while having a long service life.

Can I fit it in another vehicle?

Maybe, the dimensions are 40 inches wide x 28.42 inches deep x 7.06 inches high. It will fit in the cargo area of an FJ40 but I have not had access to my FJ40 in order to work out the mounts yet.

Price:

$775.00 (without Mini-grid)
$825.00 (with mini-grid)

Development pics for FJ40 (better pictures later when mounts are done)

That is sweet! Good job Doc.

interested in the FJ40 application.

Can a ARB refrigerator be mounted on top?

Can a ARB refrigerator be mounted on top?

The weight should would not be an issue at all, I put a new 50 liter ARB on the top and it does overhang just a bit, so the railing would not be a good option. Most people would probably bolt on an ARB fridge slide anyway so the fridge would be secure mounted on that.
NOTE: In the FJ cruiser, the rear seat will need to folded down to fit the ARB.

This may help

We did modify the railing so that it could be split and 1/2 removed for those who wanted to have a fridge and still have a mini-grid.
