I have maps, let me know what your planning on running. Scott is leading a stock friendly run on Saturday I beleive.

I was thinking power lines for Saturday, getting back in enough time to check out the wheeling at Gretchens.

I can't make it. My boss just informed me I am working my 8th consecutive full weekend. Sheri will still attend the meeting.

I'll be there for Saturday.

Who else is in for the power lines on Saturday? Could be tough with the rain.

Anyone else up for the Class 6's on Sunday heading back from Gretchen's toward the intersection of I-89 & I-93? They should also be a challenge with all the rain we have had, but you are less likely to break something major. If we leave Gretchen's by 9-9:30, you should be back to the highway and heading south or east by 1 or 3 depending upon how long you want to tag along.

I could be interested in doing this, we'll see how things go on Saturday.

I'm up for the Powerlines on Saturday.

I unfortunately need to leave at 6AM on Sun. :bang:

If we do plan on a class 6 run lets make sure the roads are open and with all the rain let's try to Tread Lightly. Given the rain we have had it won't take much to rut them up.

NTC has asked our members to try and bring extra firewood for Sat. evening.
After the BBQ and raffle they like to get a good sized fire going.

Thanks

I am very interested in the Sunday option.

As a suggestion, there's usually some wood along the trails people can pick up while wheeling. It'll be wet, but should burn once the bonfire gets going.

Bob, since there is some interest in a Class 6 run Sunday, can you provide some maps? I have some ideas, but it would be better to have a plan if there's going to be a bunch of us.

All of the roads are open by now unless there's a particular situation that creates an individual closure. We should be able to drive around those. Although most of the roads are hardpan and rocks with a few waterholes, we will be sure to tread lightly and avoid ruffling feathers along the routes.

I'm probably going to head over to Gretchen's Friday afternoon and maybe scout some on the way over.

I should be there around 3pm, I'll bring the maps as well.

Meeting Over view

We had a great meeting this morning. The rain had stopped and the sun was trying to come out.

Our President, Bob began the meeting with a brief overview of where we see Yankee Toys headed. We are trying to build a following on both Facebook and Twitter; both to get our club out there for everyone to see what we are doing as well as to help build relationships with our vendors.

Vice President, Scott brought us up to date on the Incorporating of Yankee Toys. There is another group in NH with the name Yankee Toy Box and we have to have their permission in order to incorporate the club. They are completely cooperative and we continue to move forward.

Membership Director, Jim gave us a membership update. As of Fall Gathering 2010 we have 80 paid members. We are starting a new membership drive incentive (suggested by Ernie Becker). If a current member brings a new member into the club the current member will get their dues paid for the following year. We are hoping that this will help build up our membership numbers.

Our Treasurer, Ernie was working so I gave the Treasurers report on his behalf. The club has a very comfortable bank balance with very few expenses in 2011 thus far; stamps, $250 towards the Spring Meeting Raffle, $307 towards Fall Gathering Raffle and $800 for our annual NEA membership.

I discussed the new member point system. Bob suggested a new point system that gives our members points for each event, trail cut etc that they attend during our wheeling season. At the end of the season (Fall Gathering) the member with the most points will win a prize (yet to be determined but it will be good). This is a great incentive to get out there and join us. You will get 5 points for each trail cut, official Yankee Toys run or for volunteering the the Fall Gathering. 4 points for being a Trail Leader, 3 for attending a social gathering or meet n greet, and 3 points for attending an NEA meeting. The BOD is not eligible for this; this is just for members. Your dues must be up to date. I will be doing all the tracking for this. If you don't know if you are current on your dues please contact Jim Barton, membership director.

Fall Gathering planning will be on us quickly. We are always in search of volunteers to help out with set up, tear down, trail leaders, etc. We will have a meeting coming up in the next month or two to start planning. There will be special incentives offered to those who volunteer including a special raffle for volunteers only. Please PM me if you are interested in volunteering.

Finally.....I handed out a questionnaire sheet during the meeting. We all want to know if everyone is happy and what we can do to make the club a continued success. Please click on the following link if you were not at the meeting so that your input can be heard as well. The questions are easy with yes or no answers. I will keep the survey open until the end of the month and then post the answers. This will take 2-3 minutes of your time and it will help us immensely in knowing how to plan Fall Gathering and upcoming trail runs and meet and greets.

Yankee Toys Survey

We adjourned at this point to send everyone off to the trails. It was great to see everyone!

Secretary and Events Coordinator.

Spring Meeting - Saturday's PowerLine Run and the Raffle

I had a great time and met some nice folks! Shared some laughs, brews, the fire and lots of goodhearted BS. I didn't win anything in the raffle, but there were lots of prizes (Thank You Sponsors!), and there were many people who did win something. My hat's off to the Northeast Toyota Crawlers for putting on a fine BBQ and sharing their food with YT members. Kudos also to our new board.

I took quite a few pictures on Saturday's run. We had two 80's, one of which got lost on a bypass and then almost flopped going the opposite way on that same bypass. No names please! There was also an FJ60 and my FJC, a nice small group of 4.

The long Winter and Spring rains have taken their toll and there were many muddy spots, water holes and slick hills on the run. The weather plus the wear and tear from vehicle traffic makes this run a little different and more challenging every time out. We managed to get off the trails just as a thunderstorm was rolling up the valley. (I even heard there was a double rainbow at the campground - just sayin').

Here's some pix, see you next year! LC
