x2 on fluid film or boeshield

Corrosion x or Rem oil works well for me, and all my stuff stays under an open carport. I also use the drawer liner with the vapor stuff built in

Regarding WD40 I've read that it's mostly kerosine or something very similar, plus fragrance. So if that's true it wouldn't be a very good lube or long term corrosion preventer.

The best thing i've seen is made by a company called Hill-co
http://www.minemill.com/HILCO-LUBE-WIPES-IN-TUB.html
The product is sold in individual wipes packages, big baby wipe tubs, bottles of oil, and gallons of oil.

you can purchase the oil in a bottle or just use the babywipe tub. One wipe will work for an entire toolbox. The oil will impregnate the pores of the tools and greatly aid in future cleaning. It also smells like bubble-gum which is a bonus as far as chemicals go. The oil leaves a film that never seems to evaporate completely.

I use them for dirty guns, knives, automotive parts, tools, and other random bits.
