Was out on the coast a couple of weeks ago, and spotted this Land Cruiser. I was not sure what it was till I got home and looked it up.

Anyone ever owned one? Thoughts?

I own one. They are kinda rare, as most have rotted into nothingness. All the same drivetrain as the 40 series, body parts are next to impossible to find (in good shape), no aftermarket body panels available that I know of.
The tend to rot out....everywhere.
The are the only landcruiser ever made with a electic retracting rear window. Even us funky 80 series guys don't have that one luxury :)

owned 9 to date
all sucked due to too much rust. They drive nice and smooth compared to a 40

rules for purchasing 55's in Canada (applies to 99 percent of 55's)
#1 if the body looks perfect, it's probably still rusted out internally
#2 if the body shows any signs of rust, it's toast

I'm still looking for that perfect 55 though

There was that red one out side of San Fransisco on Craigslist a while ago. It was a real nice looking stock rig with tons of pics and no apparent iron oxides. <drool intended> This Sun Shine Coast truck looks to be in worse shape than the one just south of Abby which last was at around $300. I have taken the advise from some guys in the Iron Pig Society to look for the most rust free possible because the custom body work and hardware can ad up big $$$ real quick. Maybe in a year or so when the wife is out of school I will be able to pursue one more seriously.

Nice truck, ugly colour. How much was that one going for? and where?

Ya, blue sucks, eh. Its up for sale in Enis Montana. https://forum.ih8mud.com/chit-chat-se...n-lc-pics.html Posted the Q in the Iron Pig Preservation Society Section. One guy said he recognized it. Didn't say how much the owner was askin but said that it has been up for sale for a year and the owner wants a lot of money for it.
