what are you guys using to drill out spot welds?

I 've used the small hole saw looking ones before but they broke a lot and weren't cheap. I have heard of using special bits with shallow angle? and I see snap on sells a tool specially for this.

I too got tired of the cost of the special cutters bits.
Went back to using drill bits.
not so bad if you tap the weld center with a center punch first.

I use the hole saw type you mentioned before with no problems at all.Center punch the weld and have at it.How are you breaking em?What part breaks?

breaking the teeth off the outside of the hole cutter edge. not much of a problem where the weld is flat but when the spotweld is in a concave area like rain gutters not doing so well.
going slower and more careful with a new replacement and now have half the roof done on 55 project.
thanks for the advice

exactly what I was looking for. I think buckroseau over on FJ45 uses something similar but couldn't find it on his giant posting
