Wanted Split Transfer case

hello fine ladies and gentlemen. i'm back into working on my swap (finally) and i'm looking for a split transfer case one that doesn't need rebuilding but i'll consider a rebuild-able one if the metal is all in good shape and the price is right.

@orangefj45 is your man for cores, runners, or rebuilt units, crawlers......be it early, late, vac, vac converted, even hooked to an F/H, B, HZ shafted H55F.

Having rebuilt or currently rebuilding three at a competent differential shop, hands of Cruiser junkie like the rest of us, I can say in no uncertain terms that Georg's prices for rebuilt units is a bargain considering experience.

I agree with Chris! In order to mount it to the transmission, you have to take it apart and reassemble some of it anyhow. Just for reference, new ones are still available @ $2500. Can't go wrong with Georg's help.

the vortec was a motor i rebuilt last year i'm not sure what year it is ( its still in my living room ) and i haven't purchased the transmission yet.

No reason in particular. i was at the stockton swap meet and talked to a bunch of people about what i wanted to do vortec->automatic-> AA adaptor split transfer case and The 700R4 seemed to be the general consensus as the easiest / most reliable option i'll be honest i am completely automatic transmission illiterate and i dont actually know what the difference is between the 4l60e / 4180e and 700r4 is. i'm just looking for an easy non electronic transmission to install and as i understand it the 700r4 fits that bill.

So please educate me as to the benefits / drawbacks of the two you suggested as opposed to the 700r4. as i mentioned before i have very little experience with automatics as far as im concerned they run on voodoo magic and unicorn blood.

Dumb question for you... if you don't have the transmission yet(700r4), was there a reason not to get the matching 4l60e(or 4l80e) for your Vortec?

Georg was able to hook me up with everything ( literally ) that i needed. He is such a fantastic resource we are lucky to have him. i attached a picture of my intake for entertainment purposes.

thanks i'm doing the transfer case in the same color.

the kitty's name is Daisy she was going through a period where she would dart out the door every time i went in or out so we would put her in a cage if we were going in and out.
