Almost immediately as I start moving my speedometer in my HZJ76 (1HZ with auto gearbox) jumps to around 60km/h and stays there fairly steadily until the car comes to a full stop. It does not fluctuates or jumps around. At the same time, the RPM does not move at all and remains at 0. I tried to search the threads, but most issues are related to the speedo cable causing the needle to jump around. I was told that mine might a sensor problem on the gearbox. Any suggestions on where to check and what's part number?

You need to isolate the problem between the transmission end and the speedo by pulling the dash gauges out and see what the cable is doing. If the cable is turning normally when you drive it, then you probably have a speedo problem. I think it will be the speedo.
I dont think the speedo has a sensor, its all mechanical like the manual transmissions.

I took apart the dashboard and inspected the cluster. My speedo is electronic. All other gauges (temp, oil, fuel and charge) work properly expect the speedo jumps to 60km/h immediately after the car starts moving and remains there until full stop. The RPM is also not correct, the needle moves up to about 2,000 RPM and stays or sometimes doesn't move at all. On the odometer, the trip meter works but not the total milage.
