I rebuilt the master cylinder and when turning the car back on my speedo and tach are dead and the odometer is blank. It is not the 15 amp gauge fuse. All other gauges work and the lights work in the cluster. Any ideas?

The gauge cluster was not out. I did move the ECU box under the dash that was about it. I did not unplug anything on it though.

Should I try to re-seat the pins anyway? Is it odd that it is just these 3 gauges or are they linked to something similar like the speed sensor or something.

So after some highway driving it threw the P0500 A code. Could this be causing the dead gauges? Is A the speed sensor in the transmission? Should I try cleaning the contacts (the LC was a bit muddy on the bottom when I bought it) or just buy a new sensor? It is a 1999 so not atrac or anything just a CEL

Yup, sounds to me like the speed sensor is bad or not making connection. On output of transfer case to rear driveshaft. I would pull it and try cleaning the gear and contacts. Clean the plug contacts too. Then reset ecu.

Is speed sensor "A" in the transmission or transfer case? I thought "B" was in the transfer case?

I think you are correct. Looks like A is on left side by bellhousing. Both external. 1 bolt to remove .

After some searching I found this transmission speed sensor - need help locating it

Looks like they are all external. I had the same problem on a Toyota car and this was the problem

According to the pdf p0500 is caused by the sensor on the back of transfer case. Sensor 1.

Can the speed sensor cause it not to run? I was driving home yesterday and it died on the highway. I got it started and drove maybe a mile and it died again. It is not like it is getting gas so it seems like the fuel pump to me.

Not sure. The way I checked my fuel pump was to disconnect the return fuel line under the hood and have someone start the truck. If you get a good flow of fuel out of the return line the pump is ok .
