Speedo cable broken? (1 Viewer)

My speedometer just stopped working. I have an adapter that the PO put on to adjust for larger tires. The speedometer cable screws into that when I unscrew the speedometer cable from the adapter the little pin in the end of the cable comes out… Is this supposed to happen? I’m not sure if it seats in somewhere and it’s supposed to come out or if that means I have a broken cable. Thanks!

if the cable between the speedo and the transfer case is in 2 pieces, it is broken. it should be 1 piece

Thank you….looks like an easy swap. Just ordered new cable
