I have an older Speedaire compressor (model 2z499A) That ended up corroding one of the cylinders. I am hoping that I can get the rust turned out from the cylinder wall and be able to use it again. Barring that, anyone have any good sources for parts other than Grainger?

I'll post a pic of the cylinder wall in a sec..

Grainger parts

is an acceptable place to get parts for this thing.
the bore is 2 3/4" nothing oversized is avail.
a new jug isnt likely that much.

any pits left will hold oil and cause the unit to move more oil than usual.
Honing it to big can cause oil movement also.

the right fix is new cylinder and rings

these units are cheap to fix.

Have fun!

I won an old compressor in an auction. It looks like it was made by Tony Stark in a cave in Afghanistan but it came with a new Speedaire pump. The old pump worked but since I had a new one, I swapped them, and the old pump has been sitting in my garage. The model # is 1Z945-B. It's your's if you want it.
