No real improvement in mpg but according to the seat of my pants the Cruiser is more responsive. On I 40 now, hilly and higher speed. I'll keep updating throughout the trip.
Hard to get accurate milages off rolling hills. If you're going 1 mile and 50% is up a medium grade, the motor works harder, thusly lowering the mpg. I'd say with a medium hill you'll end up getting 10-12 mpg depending on circumstances but that would cover most. But as you're coming down the same grade you're likely to be coasting most of the way or almost completely. You're milage can then go to nearly an idle mode where your milage reading is +50pmg or 99mpg, or undefined (depending on the type of computer that's measuring).
Mileage in my GS430 shows a 99mpg when I come back from my parents house on the hill. And on the way up I'm averaging 15-17 (it's pretty steep as normally I'd average 25mpg on hwy). So my average mileage gets blown out of the water for normal driving as the 99 and average of 16 come out absurdly high for normal circumstances.
Keep us posted but the net result of more miles and more driving circumstances will be more accurate I think. And mpg is really only useful in terms "while the motor is working". so coasting periods shouldn't be inclusive when reporting on just 1 tank or so.
