Last week I was on a trip in Costa Rica,as you all know there are still lots of 40 series Land Cruisers used there as daily drivers and most of them have alraedy been to the bodyshop to stay in good shape.Somethimes however you find the odd one.As I was driving tru the mountains on my way from La Fortuna to San Jose I spotted this
Inmediatly I slowed down and turned around to check this out
Like most Cruisers here in Latin America this one is not restored/build to OEM specifications but these people build cars from there imagination because most off them do not speak english or have acces/knowledge of the WWW. This Cruiser was a perfect example for this ,the body existed out of a one piece front,hood,2 doors and the cab was also made out of one piece. The typical lines and details where not there but still the craftmanship off the Polyester/fiberglass body was great. To bad they used a Range Rover chassis and suspension for it
On the good side....The engine was a 1HZ with a turbo mounted to it
(the owner was convinced he owned a 1HD-T
) The bed was completely made out of aluminum.
Enjoy the pics I know it's not a Pure Cruiser but still I like when people display some good crafthsmanship without a huge budget or endless resources
