Anybody experience this?

Today my speakers worked fine up until this evening when I started it up and only the sub worked. I have an aftermarket deck, which has been installed for about 8 months now. I am guessing there is a loose wire, but I was just wondering if anybody has experienced this and know specifically what is the problem before I pull the radio and and try and find the loose connection or short.

Sounds like you're on the right track

Did you replace any of the speakers? If so I would look at those, particularly the shallow front door speakers (if replaced in the time frame you have started having problems). One of the wires or fittings may be grounding to the door or metal surrounds which I believe would cause all of the speakers to go out except the sub, I think. Also, did you bypass the stock amp when you installed?

I replaced two speakers, one door speaker and the speaker next to you knee. I am guessing it's a wire in the door, I pulled the deck out today but couldn't find any loose wires. Periodically the speakers would go out if I opened the door all the way. I only replaced one speaker because I built a spacer but did not like the way if fit.
I did not bypass the amp.

Wire pinched where it is fed from the cab into the door ? Could be grounding?

Found the problem, pinched wire in the door.

Seen it several times. Glad you found the problem!
