Hey guys so I put spc control arms today and did it exactly how the directions said. I took it in for an alignment and they said he couldn’t give a proper alignment because of the way the D shaped plate for the ball joint is facing I set it to how it is recommended in the directions but my tire guy said I need it set to A as appeared to D (recommended) is he crazy or did I do something wrong?

Weird seems most ppl are using the D setting. My tire guy recommended I put it to the max caster setting (A) and bringing it back for alignment ? Any idea why ?

Possibilities:

"What is your center of hub to front fender height?"
"Is the SPC camber adjustment off, causing it to eat up all of the factory adjustment?"

I've generally found that it's better to deal with someone that is familiar with the SPC UCAs, otherwise you're going to have to do all of the SPC "stuff" and let them just do the factory adjustments.

i have the adjustable bolt pushed all the way in closest to the engine and the D shaped piece has the rounded end facing to the tire on both sides. Does this sound like it could be causing the camber adjust

I set mine of D and took it to Firestone for an alignment. I told them I was considering moving it up to C. to give a little more clearance behind the wheel. They said no no no.
It's perfectly in spec. Don't change anything. Note that I am lifted just over 2" in the front. I think it depends on the person performing the alignment. I am fortunate my local Firestone has some Nissan s-chassis freaks working there. So the wilder the suspension, the better they like it.

It's been ~6 years, since I've done this. The caster adjustment sounds reasonable (depending on how tall your front end is), sliding the camber adjustment all of the way in one direction, doesn't match what I remember, but again it's been a while.
