Can anyone me why the Spark Plug Coils # 3 & 5 would wear differently, as if it was burning? Any idea what could be causing this?

Looks like water intrusion into the ignitor channel (see the seals near the coil pack heads?).

Normal wear on the spark plugs and the engine is running fine; nothing out of the ordinary. The mechanic who replaced the plugs thinks it may be the spark plugs (bosch) causing it. It's on a 2002 LC and I had never changed it before. He said bosch plugs always have issues. After he installed new plugs, he said there was no misfire.

Everything was running fine before the plugs were replaced. I just decided to change them because I had not done it before. While they were changing the plugs, that's when the mechanic noticed the discoloration of the coils.

The discoloration is rust. From water getting under the gasket... IIRC, there's s steel "ring" inside the channel that the spark plug coil packs fit down into. That ring rusts when it gets hot and wet. The rust "stains" the coil pack body.

No. Clean, put a very light coat of non-conductive gel on them if you want (petroleum jelly a.k.a vaseline) to protect them. I would also put a light coat especially on the gaskets and make sure the little bolt on each coil pack is snugged down to keep water infiltration to a minimum. It only happens when you SPRAY the engine with a power washer or high-pressure hose.
