So far haven"t had to deal with any major trail repairs just a flat tire so far. I figure the more I wheel it is only a matter of time before I break something. I have a 98 4Runner IFS slighytly modified DD with skid plates, bumpers, sliders, open diff on 265/75/16 MT. All my excursions have been in the Northeast, went down to Rausch Creek twice and ran mostly blue and a few blacks.
So I ask the more expierenced what spare parts should I be bringing with me?

The front cv shafts and and hubs are the weakest part of your power train. So having a spare set and the tools to change them would be good.
But honestly I don't think only running a 265 tire is going to put much stress on them. Usually once you run 33 or bigger is when you have to be concerned.
Toyotas are pretty bullet proof in stock and near stock form, so just carrying basic tools and a spare tire is usually all you need.
When you start making the truck bigger and running real hard trails thats when upgrade parts and carring spares are important.

Thanks for the feedback guys I appreciate it. In the future I plan on moving up to a 33, not looking to go bigger than that. I am going to the local salvage yard to pick up an axle housing. They never have any 4Runners or Tacomas at the yards around here. Should I be checking out hubs & cv's and hold onto them for future use when I eventually go up to a 33

SAS!!
