Hi guys,

After having a nail repair pulled and plugged from my tire this week, I realized I had no idea how to get the spare down etc. So I checked out the manual and located where the jack and tool kit should be. The jack is there, but no tool kit. So I don't have the poles to raise and lower the jack or ( according to the manual ) raise and lower the spare tire. Not to mention, no lug wrench.

Can I get compatible parts from an auto parts store or do I need to go through Toyota ? If its Toyota, hopefully they'd stock them assuming they use similar kit for other trucks.

I'm taking a little road trip in a few days so I'd love to just be able to pick up some parts.

Thanks
Oz

I don't know if Toyota stocks them, but a quick call is the easiest.

If you want to look in a junk yard, I'll try to post a pic later today. I doubt auto parts stores have them, but with a pic, you could find out easier.

In the meantime, the business end that operates the jack and the spare carrier looks like a question mark???

Yeah, I think the only part I really need is the one for the spare lowering and jack. I already have a bunch of lug wrenches. I'll check out the dealer. I actually have spare bottle jacks too, so I just need to see what I need to lower the spare.

Thanks

Btw, the tools should be in the same compartment as the jack, correct ?

Well, one pretty important piece of kit is the key to lower the spare down from underneath the vehicle.

I don't know about Cruisers in the States, but here the key pattern varies from vehicle to vehicle.

I actually have a spare set for the hundy that is completely new. I'll go look but I think it's a straight extension, a J hook (that engages the spare pulley mechanism, and a L wrench.

PM me with an offer if you're interested. I'll get a pic posted shortly.
