Ok, I've done a search. Looked at the owners manual and in the service manual.
I need to lower the spare tire. On my old 2nd gen 4runner all I had to do was insert the hook end of the tool into the the lowering screw mechanism. crank a few times and down she would come. Now that I have this 100 series LC the hook end of the tool doesn't seem to engage anything.
I presume that I am hitting the correct place. What I see through the access port just above the bumper is sort of a "funnel" shaped object but no fitting that I can tell would engage the hook on the end of the jack tool.
What am I missing?
