Spare tire holder mod question

I was under the unit today planning for the spare tire holder mod, and it looks like the spare bottoms against the crossmember where its at now. Does one shove the tire forward when you raise it, to better fit into the well? Also, what diameter and pitch are the bolts that hold the tire winch cross member? 8mm x 1.0?

Tom, this a subject you will want to do a "search" on. Everything you need to know was dicussed here several months ago (it keeps us from having to go back over it.
