Noob here.....cannot find the hand crank to let my spare tire down. I have the toyota tool kit, however I can't find the crank want to take of the spare and replace it......any ideas where it might be?? Thanks.

my 83 has it in multiple pieces under teh front seat with the tool kit

I figured that you wanted to hand crank the engine. And I don't think that you can do that b/c the rad is in the way.

Still looking

I was thinking about trying to hand crank it to start but the radiator is in the way and the nut on the crank is not the correct one for hand cranking...but I still need to get my spare down and off....so I need to find it....not under the front seat though...or rear seat....in the tool bag....anywhere...just was wondering if there was a secret toyota hiding place for it.

if PO did not rip it or lose it

good chance it is in the drivers side rear quarter panel where the jack and rear window washer bottle is located just inside the back door hatch... there is a removeable panel. if that fails - try calling the PO. it might be in his garage OR -> like me:

when i got my last 62 that is the first thing that messed up... it blew a tire on the interstate (luckily the access ramp!) and i could not find the crank anywhere... PO had sold it on EBay with the tools. luckily the guy from AAA had one delivered to him that would work so i let him do the change. of course, it was raining and late at nite... how many AAA trucks does it take to change a flat? lotsa blinding yellow flashing lights.

In the FJ60, there's two locations ( depends on pre / post 80 something,,,think 85) read quarter panel with jack; under drivers seat with jack.

You can take a piece of metal electic conduit; flatten one end (fits into wheel lift), pipe wrench on other end to turn....it'll work unless your livt is rusted up...
